Claudia Mann is casting the ground. By this she is exploring where sculpture begins and where it has got its source of being.
Her radical approach to understanding earthly matter defines her point of view as a sculptor. In the film horizon Mann films her own sculpture in rotation. The sculpture circles around the camera, allowing us to scrutinise the material and reflect upon its essence.
The viewer stands still while it is the sculpture that is moving. By this horizon stops to exist but referberates to the viewers existence.
